DIRECTOR

Power is a Question of Detailed Profiling.

On technological as well as acoustic aspects the Director series represents GAE’s top-quality product in respect of conventional sound reinforcement purposes. The systems have been developed on the basis of the latest achievements and materials thus a long product cycle is guaranteed.

Highest acoustic capacities meet a compact construction thereby allowing an economic application of materials so that practically all demands can be satisfied. From the stacked stand-alone-system up to the flown cluster-application the Director system convinces with the highest degree of flexibility and tonal experience.

GAE DIRECTOR TOPGAE Director Top

GAE Director Top GAE Director Top is a 2-way-active, 60° x 40° twin-coaxial high “Q” loudspeaker system comprising two specially constructed 12” cone drivers with 4” voice coil diameter, 220mm ceramic magnets and a 1,4” Neodymium-compression driver with 3” titan membrane in a horn loading.

The outstandingly compact high tone driver allows an extremely tight installation of the loudspeaker’s chassis. Thereby the 12” horn drivers are mounted as close as possible above each other whereas the compact horn/driver combination is located in the middle and directly in front of the drivers. This grouping is acoustically perfect and achieved by a very elegant construction.

Only a few screws have to be disconnected and the backside of the Director Top can be removed, thus a quick access to the system driver is obtained. With the help of a high voltage plug the rear cover including the connection terminal can be dismounted which simplifies the service.
The mid horn’s mouth spans the whole front side. Two phase plugs which are installed in front of the mid tone drivers ensure an optimal compression rate. To avoid interfering reflections the form of the phase plugs has been optimised in a way that together with the high frequency horn they build a homogeneous unity. This way sound parts which are deflected at the edge of the HF-horn are kept from colliding with the middle horn thereby creating interferences. The hemispheric ends of the phase plugs barricade the way of misguided reflections which leads to an early and diffuse diversion without negative consequences for the frequency- and impulse response. Due to this elaborate mechanical construction an outstanding frequency response of the mid- and high-tone bandwidth is achieved. The interaction of the different construction parts produces a perfectly symmetrical directivity. Additionally the HF-driver is electronically protected against DC and acoustical pressure load. The components are protected by a stable front grill which is backed with acoustic foam.

All these constructive and technical details add up to an extraordinary size/power proportion.

GAE DIRECTOR BASSGAE Director Bass

GAE Director Bass In it’s appearance and it’s function the GAE Director Bass is optimally matched to the GAE Director Top and forms the third way in the Director full-range system. The high-power loudspeaker system incorporates two special front loaded, high excursion 18” drivers. The unique and extremely optimised enclosure design offers a 90% utilization of the loudspeaker’s front as emitter – consisting of loudspeaker membrane and resonator’s vent. The ventilation channels have been arranged in a way that allows them to stiffen the enclosure and at the same time cool the drivers’ magnets. The Director Bass’ constructive design has been optimised for the greatest acoustic power achievable being simultaneously compatible to the enclosure.

Six handle recesses, 100mm blue wheels on the rear side and the roundabout successful mechanical realization allow the application for every installation and the hard touring routine.
Characteristics:

·    flyable, compact high-power subwoofer
·    reference subwoofer for the Director Top
·    optimised enclosure design offering a 90% utilization of the loudspeaker’s front as emitter
·    ventilation channels enable additional enclosure stability and at the same time cool the drivers’ magnets

·    increased efficiency
·    incorporates 2 long excursion 18” drivers
·    optimised for a frequency response of 45Hz – 250Hz
·    integrated GAE lifting accessories

GAE DIRECTOR BASS-SGAE Director S-Bass

GAE Director Bass-S In its basic form the Director Bass-S is matched to the Director Top and Bass, forming a modular and extremely flexible completion to the Director Series. The enclosure is of very elaborate dimensions, thus two Single-Basses put on top of each other offer an optimal working height for the top-unit for lots of applications. In comparison with the Director Bass the Single Bass offers a lower tuning frequency achieved by an increased enclosure volume and thus obtains an even lower sub-low-fundament. The Director Bass-S in combination with the Director Bass – then at a nominal impedance of round about 2ohms – allows a state-of-the-art amplifier to proof its capability.
When Director Top elements are flown and remote Director Bass systems are used for ground stacking an outstanding acoustic connection of all parts can be achieved by flown Single Basses. The vented Director Single Bass offers a perfect exploitation of the mechanical and thermal characteristics of the 18” long excursion cone driver. The very compact enclosure design, six integrated carrying recesses, 100mm blue wheels on the rear side, a threaded flange mounted on the top and the overall felicitous mechanical quality allow the application for every sort of installation and the hard daily touring routine.

Characteristics:

·    flyable, compact high-power subwoofer
·    reference subwoofer for the Director Top
·    vented subwoofer system with optimised resonator
·    optimised for a frequency response of 38Hz – 250Hz
·    incorporates a long excursion 18” driver
·    integrated GAE lifting accessories
